Glass Fiber Reinforced Concrete - GRC or GFRC
Its a composite material reinforced using glass-fibers which are resistant to alkaline environment. Due to its construct ability, mouldability and strength varieties of architectural products cane be produced using this material. The final product can be used indoor or outdoor. Below is the example of light weight big size planters made of pigmented GRC. Thickness of planter is 18mm and weight is around 80 kg each.The colors are long lasting. The strength of the material is enough to hold 2MT of soil load inside the planter.

The planter was made using following ingredients..
- OPC - Ordinary Portland Cement
- Quartz Sand
- Water
- Polymer
- Superplasticizer
- Chopped Glass-Fibers
- Defoamer
- Pigments
- Pozolans - Filler material
The planters are sealed so that they don't absorb much water. Beware of color change while applying the sealer. One should always prepare few samples of colors of their choices before casting final product.
